Malcolm Smith

Malcolm has been in the business for 16 years in various management roles including sales and marketing. He has a B Com in Business Management and has played a critical role in delivering and supporting the GI market in various projects during his time at Ordnance Survey.

As CEO, Malcolm sets the strategy along with his Leadership and Executive Teams to achieve our revenue and customer expectation goals, while building a balanced and driven workplace culture.

Andrew Crawshaw

Andy is based in Sydney, New South Wales, and has worked for a whole spectrum of businesses within the property industry for over 20 years, and has been a Senior Account Manager at Groundsure since 2013. From starting out in Estate Agency, to working with New Homes Developers and dealing with Operations at online property portals, Andy now advises law firms on the risks environmental perils can have on property transactions.

Julian has over 15 years working within development teams. Having spent the majority of his childhood playing with computers he went on to study Computer Science at University.  He’s worked across several areas of tech, from Infrastructure admin to frontend and backend development. He now runs the IT and Development teams here at Groundsure.

Jon has over 20 years experience in Finance, starting his career in Accounting Practice before moving to the Commercial sector. Jon has a background in high growth entrepreneurial businesses primarily in the Technology and Manufacturing sectors. Jon joined Groundsure as Chief Financial Officer in February 2021.

Gary Miller

Gary started his career in the Financial Services Industry, working in both pensions, life and investments for over 6 years. Prior to this Gary has been in the conveyancing sector for 18 years, with a variety of roles including Commercial Manager/Account Management/Product Development and Channel Management. Gary has a very strong passion for Sales/Account Management/Customer Service and now heads up a team managing the largest search providers/lenders and solicitors in the UK for the Searches division of Groundsure.

consultancy and Government. He has a long and successful track record launching and growing products and brands, devising and executing marketing strategy with powerful and compelling campaigns, built around his detailed understanding of clients’ needs.

Catherine Shiers

Cat has been at Groundsure for over 9 years in various roles and is now Head of Customer Support. She has a BSc in Geography and an MSc in Environmental Management and manages the Customer Service and Technical Communications Teams, responsible for all inbound and outbound customer queries, customer training and the creation of all content. She acts as a conduit between sales, product and marketing, ensuring the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Outside of work she loves a good catch up with friends, travelling, going to gigs and has recently got into running.

Stuart joined Groundsure in 2004 as Technical Support Manager, before becoming Operations Director. Stuart’s background is as a chemist, with over 20 years experience specialising in contaminated land and human health risk assessment. Prior to Groundsure, Stuart worked for several large multidisciplinary consultancies including Southern Water Technology Group, Halcrow and Rail Link Engineering. Since joining Groundsure his practical knowledge of contaminated land and environmental datasets have resulted in the creation of several market leading due diligence reports. Stuart holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry.

Ceri Sansom

Ceri is a Consultancy Director at Groundsure, overseeing the delivery of residential and commercial searches. With 25 years UK and international experience she has worked for utility companies, multidisciplinary consultancy and government in a range of environmental roles. She values bringing out the best in a team encouraging a pragmatic approach using the best method for the project, either a standard report, or taking a more bespoke approach if it can give better results.

Jane started her career in the financial sector in 1993. She started working in accountancy practice as an auditor, moving into the commercial sector some 10 years later. Prior to Mining Searches UK, Jane worked for a large manufacturing company as their financial administrator for 10 years.

She brings with her a wealth of organisational experience from the real estate and investment banking sectors. Based in Brighton for the last 16 years, Jacquie has also worked in London, Frankfurt and New York.

With a degree in Accounting from CSU Bathurst and a qualification in Conveyancing Law and Practice from Macquarie University, I bring 26 years of conveyancing experience, including 23 years in private practice. Recognized as one of NSW’s top conveyancing professionals by the AICNSW in 2010, 2013, and 2015, I am also an author, podcaster, and CPD webinar presenter on conveyancing topics. As a public speaker, I have presented at educational events across Australia and developed the conveyancing app “Ask Conveyancer.” I regularly share tips for practitioners and real estate buyers and sellers via social media, and I am passionate about supporting both through my mentoring service
